Out and about locally
The beach is only 3 minutes walk so don’t forget your beach towel! The Pier, dated from 1879 is open all year and free to enter, offering a variety of slot machines and games for all the family – remember to save your 2p’s and your 10p’s!
Take a walk along the sea front through the harbour, which offers a variety of boat trips from sea fishing to Bay tours. There is also the Harbour Inn and the Olive Tapas Bar to tempt you. Continue your walk incorporating the South West Coastal Path to Goodrington and on to Brixham. There are great places to picnic, swim (beach or Splashdown Quaywest) or even catch a steam train to Kingswear, then a ferry to Dartmouth.
We have the Palace Theatre, the Apollo Cinema, Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway, amusement arcades and a wide variety of shops, all within walking distance.
If you’re not sure what to do during your stay, with our knowledge of the area and events happening, we can guide you to get the best out of your stay here in South Devon and, with so much to do, you’ll want to come back again and again!
For guests wishing to explore further afield we have within a thirty mile radius, some of England’s most scenic countryside.
